Homework

  • Next week we're going to discuss forgiveness and do a forgiveness meditation, which is an incredibly deep and difficult topic. So, as a preparation we hope you read a chapter of a book called: "The Five Invitations."

  • Just Like Me contemplation, see if you can do it a few times. For some people this can really open up the heart.

  • Ninja/Stealth Metta to neutral people on the streets. Wishing other people well, in secret and in silence, while moving through the world.

  • And don't forget to do Metta everyday:

    • Set the intention

    • Try to connect with the subtle body

    • Metta on the benefactor

    • Metta on yourself

    • Metta on people you like

    • Metta on a neutral person

    • Ending with some gratitude + recognising needs

  • And don't forget your gratitude buddy

Fundamental Attribution Error

  • We experience ourselves from the inside and we tend to judge ourselves on the basis of thoughts, feelings and intentions. Not so much on our behavior.

  • We experience other people only from the outside and because of this we primarily judge them on the basis of their behavior, while there is a whole person going on inside just like you.
